Welcome!

Welcome to my website, Pure Freedom Yoga

Many people think they are unable to practice Yoga.  The truth is that anyone can practice Yoga.  If you can breathe, you can practice Yoga.   My goal is to pass on the inner and outer strength that Yoga has given me to others. I have always had a desire to help and heal others. Yoga is something that anyone can learn and practice, anytime and anywhere.  You don't need anything --- just to be present in body for starters.  Once you focus your energy on your practice, you will become present in body AND IN mind.

I will share with you my 30-something years of experience as a daughter, student, wife, mother, computer lab trainer, programmer, application software specialist, mystery shopper (sshh!), Yoga teacher, and everything in between.  I have found in my life that the most profound and transforming moments have transpired not while reading a textbook or watching someone else live their dream, but while observing my own common, everyday situations.  None of these moments would have occurred if I had not been introduced to Yoga, and without the inspiration and examples of my wonderful teachers.

Since the beginning of my Yogic journey, I have never ended a good practice without feeling alive and empowered.  The practice of Yoga encompasses much more than the physical practice of asanas.  Yoga is also about living compassionately and peacefully.

The late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, founder of Ashtanga Yoga, would teach his students "Practice, and all is coming!".  In other words, do not worry about the future, just live in the present!    When my daily challenges begin to overwhelm me, I try to remember to "Practice, and all is coming!".

Peace and love to all.

Namaste,

Kathryn
